Original Design

Whether we’re at camp playing a game or teaching at a giveback event, we want to show children the value of faith, health, athletics, and life skills.

Changing the World One Camp at a Time

Original Design was founded in 2020 from a passion to create an environment where children could live in the Original Design that God created for them.

This Original Design is filled with unhindered union with the Father, Son, and Spirit. As we receive His love we also aim to be a blessing to the world around us. (Genesis 1: 26-31) We not only desire this for the children we serve, but the mentors, volunteers, and donors that are a part of Original Design

A D-1 QB with a Heart of Gold and Drive for Change

To know Jay is to be inspired. Truly one of the most magnanimous people I've come to know. It was a true honor to be brought on for the Original Design rebrand.

The challenge: create a rebrand that felt familiar of the original idea, and yet, championed more of the heart and desire for change at every touch point.

Extending the Impact

I've also had the pleasure of creating another brand for Jay called Banner Player Development.

With a heart for mentorship and leadership, Jay created Banner to equip middle and high school athletes with the tools to build character, develop core competencies, and discover their purpose outside of the game. As a former D-1 athlete, his mission is to inspire the next generation to live with confidence, integrity, and discipline both on and off the field.

"Working with Joel has been a huge blessing for both Original Design and Banner Player Development. From the beginning, he’s helped bring real clarity and creativity to our branding and made sure everything we put out truly reflects who we are and what we’re about. It’s way more than just graphic design, Joel’s helped me build out our website, decks, presentations, and materials that have taken how we show up to donors and partners to the next level. He’s consistent, detail-oriented, and is just amazing!”

What exactly do you do?

A few questions I get asked quite often.

So... what exactly do you do?

My strength is strategic design. Brand identities and products that look incredible and work even harder. Logos, visual systems, verbal direction, digital presence...anything that helps your brand grow with clarity, confidence, consistency, and helps you hit those revenue goals is what I do best.

Do you only work with big brands?

Nope. We work with bold ones. Whether you’re a household name or a hungry startup, I care more about your mindset than your mailing list. If you respect the process, value good design, and want a creative partner, I'll be a great fit.

How long does a branding project take?

Most full identity systems, when done well, take 12–24 weeks. A brand new visual identity takes 4-6 weeks. And product design varies based on the product type.

What if I need a branding project fast?

We can move fast, but it won’t be cheap.

Great branding takes time, but we understand that sometimes, speed is the strategy. If your deadline is non-negotiable and your budget reflects the urgency, we can shift gears and prioritize your project.

Just know: fast means full focus, and full focus means premium rates.
You’re not just paying for speed. You’re paying for priority, precision, and the same high standards in a compressed timeline.

What’s your process like?

It’s structured, collaborative, and deeply intentional. I start with a strategy phase, followed by identity development, refinement, and system delivery.

I lead the way, but your voice and vision shape the outcome.

What if I already have a logo, can you just refresh it?

If your brand is solid and your logo needs a tune-up, we can talk. But often, a “refresh” is a polite way of saying, “this isn’t working anymore.” We’ll audit what you’ve got and recommend the best path forward, even if that means starting from scratch.

Can you help me name my company?

Yes. Naming is one of my favorite meticulous processes. It’s part art, part strategy, and all about identity. If it’s needed, I can do it.

Why the name Unicorn Creative?

Because design should be rare, remarkable, and magical. I believe that you can be bold and kind, fun and professional all at the same time.

Still have questions?

Would love to hear from you.
